Day 1 – Arrive Oslo (Welcome Reception)

Prepare for a spellbinding encounter with pristine nature - an untamed landscape of fjords, lakes and dense forests that begins in the understated capital of Oslo, set within beautiful natural surrounds. Upon arrival, you are transferred to your hotel. Spend the day exploring its unique architecture and exquisite open spaces before joining your Travel Director and fellow travellers for a Welcome Reception to kick start your journey.

Day 2 – Oslo Sightseeing (Scandinavian Breakfast)

Join your Local Specialist this morning for a sightseeing tour of this cultural capital. Enjoy views of the medieval fortress of Akershus, that overlooks Oslo's beautiful harbour, the Opera and 19th century Royal Palace. We finish our tour with a visit to the peculiar Vigeland Sculpture Park, proudly displaying the life's work of Gustav Vigeland. Spend the rest of the day at leisure people-watching over coffee in the charming Aker Bryge District or exploring the nation's seafaring heritage. Consider a visit to the Fram Polar Ship Museum and Viking Ship Museum to see the world's best-preserved Viking ships.

You’ll visit the three original Viking longships and their treasures with your Local Specialist, including the Oseberg ship - last used as a burial ship for a woman of high rank. Then explore the stunning Fram Museum to discover the story of the ship and the race to the South Pole, illustrated with films, images and new exhibits.

Day 3 – Oslo – Geilo – Voss (Scandinavian Breakfast, Dinner)

We meander along the picturesque shores of the Tyrifjord to the ski resort of Geilo with its scenic location at the foot of Hallingskarvet, before continuing across the Hardanger Plateau to the Voringfoss, a breathtaking cascade of water that plunges impressively into the Måbødalen Canyon below. We continue to Hardangerfjord - its title as the 'Queen of the Fjords' is well deserved and you'll have an opportunity to admire its deep blue waters as you travel along part of its shoreline. Later you will be arriving to Voss in the heart of Fjord Norway where you’ll dine in your lakeside hotel.

Take the world-famous Flåm Railway on its epic journey through the breathtaking Flåm Valley and enjoy the scenery at the mountaintop station of Myrdal, our transfer point for the charming local train route to or from Voss.

Day 4 – Voss - Bergen (Scandinavian Breakfast, Be My Guest Dining)

A short, picturesque drive along lakes and fjords will take us to the Capital of Fjords, Bergen. We learn about the city's fascinating Hanseatic heritage, enjoying an orientation tour past the 13th century Haakon's Hall and bustling fish market. Enjoy some free time to explore this colourful city before embarking on a Be My Guest dinner with the 5th generation Øvre-Eide family on their livestock farm in Norway that has been a working farm since the 1500s.

1) Grieg And Bergen Insights

We’ll head out along the fjord to visit the home of famous composer Grieg, where you’ll enjoy a guided tour of the villa - the inspiration for many of his masterworks. You’ll also explore Bergen on a walk through the historical lanes, and see stunning views of the city on a trip up the hillside by funicular railway.

Day 5 Bergen – Sognefjord – Geiranger (Scandinavian Breakfast, Dinner)

Delving straight back into Norway's inspiring natural landscapes, we continue to the 'King of Fjords'. We brush the shoreline of Sognefjord, climbing into the surrounding mountains to see the impressive ice wall of the Boeya Glacier. Later, we arrive at Geiranger Fjord whose deep blue waters, surrounding snow-capped peaks and lush green landscapes provide a beautiful backdrop for the next two nights.

Enjoy a relaxing cruise along the UNESCO-listed Næroy Fjord with it's towering mountains and fabulous scenery. This stunning fjord landscape with waterfalls, snow capped mountains and tiny villages has inspired painters for hundreds of years.

Day 6 – Geiranger (Scandinavian Breakfast, Dinner)

The Geirangerfjord takes centre stage today as we embark on an epic adventure to explore its depths. We begin our adventure on the Dalsnibba Skywalk for spectacular views of the fjord below before embarking on a scenic cruise past its tumbling waterfalls and snow-capped peaks. Spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure and enjoy dinner in your hotel this evening.

1) Trollstigen Explored

Join us on a delightful drive to the Eagles Road for amazing views of towering cliffs plunging down to the Geiranger Fjord. Then discover the path of the trolls - Trollstigen, considered a masterpiece of engineering. This is Norwegian rugged mountain scenery at its finest.

Day 7 – Geiranger – Lom – Lillehammer (Scandinavian Breakfast)

We enjoy a scenic drive from Geiranger through the high peaks of the Dalsnibba Pass, arriving in Lom, the gateway to the Jotunheimen Mountains. Here we will visit a 12th century wooden Stave church, adorned with Runic inscriptions, paintings and carved dragon figures that are said to protect it against evil. We continue through the Gudbrandsdal Valley before arriving in Lillehammer, the proud host of the 1994 Winter Olympics.

1) Lillehammer Brewery Experience

We'll meet a local storyteller at the historic Lillehammer Brewery where we'll tour the brewery and sample their speciality craft beer. Then, enjoy a casual dinner made from locally-sourced produce.

Day 8 – Lillehammer – Oslo (Scandinavian Breakfast, Farewell Dinner)

We return to Oslo where we have the rest of the day to explore the cityscape. Explore the open-air museum displaying Norwegian life from the 1500s to today, or take a guided tour of the Royal Palace. We spend our last evening together at a Farewell Dinner toasting to a memorable trip exploring the beauty of Norway.

Treasures Of Lillehammer

Explore Lillehammer on a guided visit to the charming folklore museum of Maihaugen, on the hills above the Olympic Town. You’ll also visit the Olympic Arena, and enjoy an exciting ride in the chairlift (weather permitting) to the top of the ski-slope, for wonderful panoramic views over the town and Gudbrandsdalen.

Day 9 – Depart Oslo (Scandinavian Breakfast)
